ROSE EHART
A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER
Rose Ehart has lived in Pierce County for over 30 years. She grew up in Lakewood as the youngest of five children. Rose is married to Michael Ehart, a computer systems engineer and a writer. The Ehart's made University Place their home a decade ago. Their son Alexander attends school in the University Place School District where Rose volunteers.
Rose’s education and experience is in business administration and non-profit leadership. A former small business owner and Realtor®, Rose left the for-profit world in the 90’s and embarked on a mission to “make a difference” in her community.
Rose is creative and hard-working. When presented with a problem or need, she looks for a solution. She founded the Bread Basket, a 501c3 non-profit Christian food and clothing bank, which delivers food at no charge to low-income homebound seniors and disabled persons throughout Pierce County. Over the years, the Bread Basket has served thousands of low income individuals and families with food, school supplies, clothing, and holiday baskets.
Rose is running for the University Place City Council because she sees a void in our city’s leadership; and she is uniquely qualified to fill that void. Rose is a people person. “We need leaders who are excited to hear from the people.” Rose says. “I welcome public input because I see no other way to represent our citizens without communicating with them.”
